ICB – Interconsult Bulgaria was awarded with the distinction European IT Excellence Award in the category Solution Provider Vertical Market, and further won the special award for CHANNEL COMPANY OF THE YEAR. The solution which stood out among the other finalists in the 17 categories of the contest is DOC TOOLS – an integrated engineering application for automatic generation of product documentation, implemented at the leading Norwegian company Kongsberg Maritime.
The award ceremony was held on 25 February in London in the presence of contest finalists, event sponsors and the media. The contest showcased the IT achievements of 26 European countries, as 51 companies from 16 countries made the finals. The contest is being held for second consecutive year on the imitative of IT Europa and is sponsored by technological leaders such as Microsoft, IBM and Cisco. The ICB award was bestowed to the company’s Managing Director Stoian Boev by Microsoft.
„This award is a recognition for the ICB team, who managed to state its professionalism and innovativeness even in the times of crisis. The award-winning solution in practice transforms the customer’s legacy systems into a productivity engine – it managed to raise productivity over 30 times, and as a result now saves millions of euro per year.” Stoian Boev said. “This award matters not only to us but also to the Bulgarian IT, because we proved that Bulgaria is no longer a cheap labor destination, but is a county which gives birth to really innovative solutions.”, Stoian Boev added.
Last year DOC TOOLS, which managed to win through finalists such as Vodafone UK, Jaspersoft and SIVECO, was selected to represent the EU IT sector on a European Business Mission to Japan. It is part of the integrated engineering expert system ENGI TOOLS that automates the overall process of creating documentation, compiling components and executing engineering test scenarios, which accompanies the sales and putting into operation of complex engineering systems.
ICB is the first Bulgarian company honored with the prestigious awards. Over a period of half an year, this is the third acknowledgement for the company, together with the 2009 IT Project of the Year (for SAFE CASH), and inclusion in Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50 & Fast 500 ranking.
